The Prayer Labyrinth

I had a great weekend. I didn't leave town and spent time with my family.

Let me tell you about our Youth Group classes this morning. We had an experiential prayer labyrinth. It was a neat time for the teenagers to fully spend time in prayer. I locked up most of the Youth Area and had a dark, quite area with 20 prayer stations for them to move about and pray different prayers. Our church has done a similar thing and we have done something like this at a camp before.

I think its important to remember how powerful and needed prayer is. It’s a challenge being a Youth Minister and trying to instill the whole idea that God is listening and talking in our prayer time. I think we often jump into things and God is an after thought. Think about it. We all do it and probably do it all the time. We really wanted to focus in on praying before something big. I want to strive and pray more. I love Laura because she challenges me to pray more and to not forget to pray.

By the way...my beautiful wife spent 4 hours with me at church Saturday setting up the Prayer Labyrinth. Thank you Laura!
