Galveston: Memory Lane

I'm sorry I have not blogged in a few days. On the other hand...I'm not. I've been on vacation. Away from here. At the ocean. With my family.

I did not realize how much I needed a vacation. It was great time to get away and be less responsible than usual. We had a great time in Galveston with my parents, grand parents, sister, uncle and aunt and two little cousins.

A couple of stories from our week:

Monday Night: Laura put Reese to bed and we weren't tired...more excited...so we stayed downstairs to hang out. Well there was a little soccer ball down there that my sister got. I began to kick it around. I kicked it to Laura. She kicked it back to me. I dribbled it up to her and tried to kick it around her. She takes it and kicks it between two chairs and says, "I scored and have a goal." WHAT!? I didn't know we were playing. Well, this started a game of soccer in the living room around chairs, tables and even down some stairs at one point. Ha. At one point...it was getting pretty intense because I was winning...I kicked the ball and it flew threw the air across the room where my mother and grandmother were and crashes into a lamp. Light goes out. Lamp goes down. Awesome. For the record: I won the game.

Wednesday Night: We had been at the Strand all day. My dad, grandfather and I went and checked out some historical things in Galveston, while all the girls shopped. We came home from a long...very long day of shopping. We got home, ate dinner and were eating some fudge we had bought earlier in the day. We were just talking. You know...the usual stuff....weather, sports, old memories. My dad begins to talk....he begins to tell how to make fudge. He then references a time he made fudge at home and how difficult it is to make. He says, "I was beating it and it got hard fast." My mom laughed. My sister laughed. We all laughed.

Talk to you soon!
