Is Your Wife Around?

Let me set the stage...

It's 10:30pm and the Padres are playing the Rockies. It is one of the most awesome things that rarely happens in baseball. An extra game to the 162 game season. Sudden death. Winner moves on. Loser goes home. The 163 game of the season. This of course interest me but not Laura [and maybe not you for that matter]. So, Laura goes to bed. I stay up to watch the end of this game. *Awesome game by the way. 13 innings. Amazing.*

As soon as the extra inning game is over Reese cries. I'm up and so I feed her. It's almost midnight and I slip into bed. I get under the covers. Laura leans over to me and says, "Is your wife around?" [in a seductive voice]

What? Huh? Excuse me Laura? I was baffled. What does that mean? Did I hear that correctly? You are my wife!

"What did you say?"
"Nothing."
"I think your asleep."
"I'm not asleep."
"Yes you are. You won't remember this conversation"
"NO. I'M NOT ASLEEP."
"Ok. You're not. So, what did you say?"
"I was saying that the baby ahibkldie dhbewoe...."
"Oh...ok."
"Night."

Laura got real close to me and I was afraid to push her away. I fell asleep wondering if sleeping Laura would say anything else interesting.

I asked Laura about this the next morning. She remembered nothing. I remember her being very angry at me. Night!
[this is Laura when she is awake]

Laura used to do this all the time to me in college-minus the seductive part! In high school I even had a whole phone conversation with her while she was sleeping! So, I know you are not making this up!
